CPSF Receives Grant
Diana Brown, Board Member for the newly formed Chickasha Communities Foundation presents a $20,000 check to The Chickasha Public School Foundation (CPSF). Accepting on behalf of the CPSF Board are Board Members, Steve LaForge, Jim Glaze, CPS Superintendent and Joyce Black. Diana conveyed to the importance of the work and the effect education has on our overall community. She spoke of the generosity of both Doris Wilks and Helen Ward, who left a legacy to Chickasha residents through their charitable bequests. Because of their planned giving, monies will be provided for Chickasha residents, events and community projects that might not otherwise have been available. Diana also informed the CPSF Board Members that they would model the CPS Foundation's grants process for The Chickasha Communities Foundation. The Chickasha Communities Foundation will be providing future grant opportunities for community organizations. Diana Brown was also a founding member of The Chickasha Public Schools Foundation. CPSF will use the generously gifted funds with much appreciation by providing students in Chickasha Public Schools enrichment in academic curriculum, purchasing instructional materials and equipment, and offer specific educational programs.
